The only thing worse than having to retire your shorts because the end of warm weather is approaching is having to retire your bright makeup products. There is something about the dew, glow, and pop of summer makeup that doesn’t seem to fit the winter weather change.

However, there’s nothing to say that you can’t carry certain products and techniques from season to season. Here are our 5 favorite makeup products you can bring with you from summer into winter.

  1. Kosas, Color & Light in Tropic Equinox ($34) – This is bronzer/highlight palette that is made of the most beautiful creamy formula, making it easy for application and blend. This product is great for keeping up the appearance of a summer glow.
  2. Tarte, Glide & Go Buttery Lipstick ($18) – This product comes in six shades and gives you the ultimate hydration for your lips. These colors are all fabulous, but the brighter colors can be transitioned into fall and winter with a simple look for the rest of your makeup.
  3. Stila, Heaven’s Dew All Over Glimmer ($25) – This highlighter is perfect to transition from summer to winter. This cream-powder hybrid highlighter gives the skin a glow but not too strong. This is perfect because it can be layered for a more noticeable glimmer or kept light for a little shine.
  4. Glossier Lidstar in Shade Cub ($18)- We don’t know where this has been our entire lives, but, oh, we are happy it’s here! This gorgeous rose-gold shade is perfect for a light shimmer or can be layered over a darker makeup look for something more winter-appropriate.
  5. Urban Decay, Beached Eyeshadow Palette ($34)– The shades in this palette are so versatile they can be used year-round. These shimmers are perfect to layer over a lighter or darker look.

We love all things that summer can bring to your look, but we love them even more when they can be incorporated year-round. All of these products have the ability to be used in any season.

Even subtle changes in the season can impact your skin in big ways. Being able to transition your skincare routine to ensure your skin’s overall health throughout the year is so important. With fall coming to a close and winter temperatures approaching, we want to show you how you can take your skincare routine from fall to winter.

Moisturize | Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. We cannot stress this enough. If you’ve been following your beauty routine, you’ve probably been doing this already. However, as the temperature begins to drop and snow begins to fall (unless you’re located in our South Florida campus!), your skin is going to sense a shift. Lathering up on moisturizer will help your skin from becoming dehydrated and dry. Switching to a heavier moisturizer when the weather cools down will be imperative in keeping your skin healthy.

Face Masks | Another way to help update your routine is to try is a face mask. As the season changes, dryness, redness, and sensitivity can irritate your skin. With so many different kinds of face masks on the market, there’s a face mask that will satisfy any and all of your needs.

Exfoliate! | And don’t forget that exfoliation is key! Help cleanse your skin and try exfoliating once or twice a week this season as it will help remove the dead skin from your face and give you a clean polished look.

Use Sunscreen | Using SPF is just as important year-round as it is during the summer. Keeping your skin protected rain or shine is necessary because your skin can still be impacted by the sun regardless of the weather. It is recommended to wear at least a SPF 15.

Perfecting your skin care routine can be tough, but with these additions your skin will be perfect transitioning from fall to winter.

Every season requires different things for your skin and beauty routine. As the weather gets cooler, you may realize your foundation isn’t matching like it did in the summer, your blush is not looking as natural, and you may even notice your perfect pout needs an update. That’s why it’s best to refine your makeup look for the winter, and we have the best tips for you below!

Retire Matte Foundation – As the temperature drops, your skin becomes drier thanks to the lack of moisture in the air. This can make matte foundation look heavy on dry skin, so we recommend you pick something with a more radiant finish as the way to go when the season changes.

Use Highlighter – Getting a perfect glow during the winter can be achieved by adding a highlighter to your routine. Apply a drop of liquid highlighter or use a powder on the highest points of your face to add a beautiful dewy glow.

Contour, Contour, Contour – Ditch the bronzer and invest in a contour palette. When it is dark and cold outside, bronzer can bring out an orange tint. Try warming up your look by taking advantage of contouring. This will also make your features more defined.

Incorporate Jewel Tones – In the winter, you need to ditch the warm fall colors and switch to something cooler, and, perhaps, even bolder. Jewel tones are perfect for this because they stand up to your winter complexion. Our favorite incorporation of jewel tones is a metallic jeweled wing eyeliner paired with a fluffy lash and a minimal look on the rest of your face.

We hope you’ve enjoyed these tips and tricks to revamp your makeup routine for winter!!

The weather is changing, and we are falling in love with new products that we believe are worth a try. Many of the brands we follow are releasing products that you’ll want to incorporate into your fall makeup look. Here are our top 4 beauty products to try this fall!

  1. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair BarriAIR cream ($30) – This moisturizer gives you the same effect as a heavy moisturizer would but without the weigh. It has a whipped, airy texture which lends to it having more of a gel moisturizer feel. It contains hyaluronic acid to moisturize then skin and ceramides to help strengthen your skin barrier.
  2. Make Up Forever Ultra HD Self-Setting Concealer ($28) – Who wants to deal with having to touch up concealer mid-day? Absolutely no one. This concealer does not even need to be set with powder because its unique formula helps it stay on for up to 12 hours without creasing. Another win is that this concealer comes in an impressive 22 shades!
  3. Benefit Roller Liner ($22)- If you’ve heard of roller lash from Benefit this is like its little sister. This is available in both matte black and brown, and it has an extra-fine felt tip that glides easily and smoothly without dragging the product. This makes it easy for a beginner to draw a nice clean wing. This product should stay set for 24 hours, so it should be perfect still when you are ready to take it off.
  4. Maybelline New York Snapscara ($6)- Not only is this mascara one of Maybelline’s best formulas yet, it is thin and flexible which leaves your lashes with lots of length and looking super glossy. This formula is wax free making it easy to remove. It comes in four colors, black, dark blue, plum, and vibrant purple. The range of colors allows you to try something new or just stick to good ole black.

We hope that you try some of these fall must-have’s this season. They’re a great addition to anyone’s makeup drawer and can most definitely be used year-round. Let us know if you give any of these products a try by reaching out to us on social media!

Summer is spent perfecting your no-makeup makeup look, but chances are, as fall approaches, its likely you’ll want to go for something more. It is time to say goodbye to your sun-kissed skin and hello to these must-try makeup looks this fall.

  • Unexpected Color | Out with the black, in with the color. Instead of a basic black liner, give a bright blue or neon pink a try. A great change-up to your look that can be paired perfectly with a nude lip.
  • Mauve Accents | Mauve is the perfect shade to transition from summer to fall; it’s darker than your typical summer shades but not as deep as a full fall tone. Mauve is flattering on almost every skin type. Our favorite use of this color for fall is on your eyes, whether it be a liner or an eyeshadow.
  • Wine Lips | Red is always a go-to lip color, but you can spice it up for fall by going darker. Opposed to a bright red lip, try a rich burgundy. This brings in the depth of color for fall and pairs perfectly with a very minimalistic makeup look.
  • Subtle Smokey Eye | Ditch the dramatic smokey eye and soften it up a bit like you would for the day. This can be achieved by adding some shimmer to your inner corners. This is meant to be paired with a very minimal makeup look.
  • Metallic Eyes | Rather than just putting a little shimmer on the inner corner of your eye, try using this metallic shimmer shade all over your lid and lower lash line to add a nice shimmer and sparkle to your look.

These trends can all be worn in any color and with any type of additional makeup. Let us know if you try any of these fall makeup trends on our social media!

Everything around us evolves and changes, including the beauty industry. Trends will always come and go, but, what we really mean is, how is this industry in particular handing the constant changes in this new, digital world.

Without a social media presence, what is a beauty brand in this day and age? Having the ability to reach out and respond to a customer instantaneously, getting feedback on ideas and products, interacting with them on a daily basis, is the reason beauty brands are able to continue giving their customer base exactly what they want, when they want it. Rather than major brands dominating the industry, we’ve seen smaller, independent brands be able to make a name for themselves because of social media. The beauty industry is adapting to what user’s need rather just creating products they believe will sell.

Over the years, the beauty industry has become increasingly more inclusive. We are seeing new shades of makeup directed towards all skin tones and types. We’ve also seen that the quality of ingredients being used improve. Where companies used to fill their products with chemicals and fillers, most brands are more conscientious of what they are providing to their base.

For 91µÎµÎ, we are excited about this new evolution in the industry and we can’t wait to see where it goes from here. How do you feel about where we are headed? Let us know in the comments section below!

Is it a sponge? No, it’s a beauty blender and one of the best tools to ensure your makeup is on point. If you are new to this makeup tool and wondering where to start, we have a breakdown of our favorite beauty blenders in the industry.

Morphe highlight & contour beauty sponge ($8) – This is a best seller for Morphe, this sponge is a little bit bigger than the average beauty blender and it effortlessly blends your favorite makeup. The roundness of it makes it very easy to use, and the tapered end fits all the places that are hard to reach with the rounded side.

Sigma 3DHD Blender ($15) – The shape of this product makes it very versatile. The round side will give you the ability to get perfect airbrush finish to your skin while the flat edges will aid in application of powder or contour. This sponge has a soft texture that is very durable.

Beauty Blender Electric Violet Swirl ($20) – Not only is this beauty blender gorgeous, it actually does an amazing job at blending in your makeup. This company is the creator of the beauty blender, so they have been perfecting these for quite some time. This sponge is super soft and gentle on skin. This is a great product for beginners because of its shape.

e.l.f Glitter Silicone Blende Duo (8$) – This product is very different from the other beauty blenders because it is silicon. This product is designed to blend foundation with a flawless finish without absorbing any of the product. This makes this product super easy to clean and it carries much less bacteria because of its composition. This is a pack of two: the large blender is best for bigger areas of your face while the small blender is meant for targeted makeup application.

A final tip for those who are new to blenders: make sure to wet the sponge with a water and squeeze it dry before you apply your makeup. This will allow you to provide better coverage and the ability to blend seamlessly into your skin.

Selecting a blush color can be hard, especially since they come in about every shade you can possibly imagine. Picking the right shade can do so much for you and your look! Wondering what blush works best for your skin tone? We have listed the most flattering hues for fair, medium, olive, and dark skin below:

Fair |The go-to for someone with a fair complexion is a baby pink. Baby pink looks very natural on a person with fair skin, so this would be the color to pick for a daytime casual look. If you are in the mood for a dramatic look, a sheer plum blush is the way to go. This color gives the cheeks a little bit more pizzazz. If you do choose to go down this route, it is important that this is a cream or translucent stain so you can just blend it in.

Medium | The best shade for some natural enhancement is apricot. Apricot enhances the warmth of a medium skin tone to create a subtle glow. The neutrality of this share allows you to be bolder with the rest of your makeup. If you are going for something less subtle, a soft berry color is perfect for a noticeable but natural color.

Olive | The best trick to deal with olive skin tones is to look for a warmer shade of blush. This enhances the warm tones in your skin. The ideal shade for a natural blush is an orangey peach. Another color to help enhance your olive skin tone is bronze; this natural bronze helps enhance the natural tan people with olive skin have.

Dark | If you have a dark skin tone, you should not shy away from a darker more pigmented color like raisin. Picking a bolder, more pigmented color will ensure that it is visible. This may sound wild, but for a bright neutral blush a bright tangerine is the way to go.

It’s safe to say we all agree that our eyelashes are one of the most important parts of our beauty routine. We do everything we can to make them look longer and fuller before we leave the house, but the easiest way to have the lashes we all crave is to ensure we are taking every caution to keep them healthy to begin with.

Here are 4 tips for longer lashes:

  • Try a Conditioning Primer | Do you have a mascara primer in your beauty drawer? Lash primers are an easy way to get length and volume from your lashes. You’ll notice that it helps to separate your lashes prior to applying your mascara. If you’re looking for a more natural look or you just want to give mascara a break, try a tinted lash primer.
  • Stay Away from Waterproof Mascara | Waterproof mascara tends to dry out your lashes. Because of this, it’s important to use it for special occasions only. If you must use a waterproof mascara, look for one with olive or avocado oils in the ingredients.
  • Change Up Your Diet | If you’re struggling with breakage or thin lashes, try adding more iron to your diet. Foods rich in B7, A, and C vitamins can help promote hair growth, which includes your lashes.
  • Remove Your Makeup Before Bed | Honestly, this is one of the easiest ways to care for your lashes. We know, the last thing you want to do after a long day is scrub at your mascara but it’s important to remove all of your mascara to prevent lash fallout.

If you have any additional tips or tricks for longer, healthier lashes, leave us a comment below! We’d love to hear about your beauty routine and what works for you.
